The challenge

Transforming care access in NRW

People in need of care and their relatives face the challenge of finding suitable support services in everyday life. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia wanted to simplify this access and at the same time make the care structure more transparent and accessible. The aim was to create a central digital platform that citizens across the state can use to search for recognized, everyday support services – simply, quickly and reliably.

We developed a web-based application for the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs NRW in order of the institution under public law, d-NRW, that is individually tailored to the requirements of the care infrastructure in NRW.

Our approach

Accessible, secure, and reusable by design

The offers are automatically transferred from the PfAD.uia specialist procedure, also publicplan GmbH, which service providers use to transmit their data to the administration. 

The application is based entirely on open source components, modules and libraries – for maximum transparency, security and reusability.

The web application is designed to be accessible and intuitive so that citizens can access the information without any technical hurdles, and the platform makes local providers of support services digitally visible and thus promotes the use of their services.

The result

Strengthening local care through digital innovation

The NRW offer finder is now a central digital tool for citizens, relatives and specialist agencies in NRW. It ensures:

  • Transparency about the range of everyday care support services,
  • Relief for family caregivers through targeted help services close to home,
  • Strengthening the care structure through increased visibility and accessibility of local providers.

The solution is scalable, open and future-proof – an example of successful digital services of general interest in the area.
